Best harry potter story - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Reviews

Wow, It was worth it. Watching the first show on opening day is like a fantasy filled expedition. Even if those besides me were downright annoying with their commentary, I just wanted to focus on the movie. The third movie disappointed me, but this one could serve as the template on how Harry Potter movies should be done. The Goblet of Fire for me is the best story as it showcases team spirit and camaraderie. Harry Potter has gone a long way since watching the first one, as he grows old so does we. I read the 4th book long time ago and still try to remember certain bits as I watched this film. Now on to the movie, the opening scene did justice to Chapter 1 of the book with Voldemort talking to Wormtail and a mysterious person (which would be revealed later) in a house previously owned by the Riddle family. It was very eerie and reminds you of going inside Amityville House. Finally, they deleted the Dursley scene since it doesn?t really add value to the movie. Poor Dursley since they are really nice people in real life. Portkey was done very wisely, even if that was not the way I imagined it. I thought if it is a portal then they just teleport or something. Quidditch World Cup was magnificently done. You would be awe with its spectacular scene as we get our first look with Bulgarian sensation Victor Krum. The game was never shown in the movie, since it would still remind you of the previous ones. In fact, it was a good idea to delete it since it takes away the tension building up. Too bad, we were not able to see the team mascots like the Veela and the Leprecauns. One big element that was deleted was perhaps Dobey and the other house-elves. Winky was supposed to appear, but I guess it still reminds you of Chamber of Secrets. Hermione?s role was diminished with House Elf Liberation campaign no longer part of the movie. Tri-wizard cup was the epitome of the movie and it highlighted the adventure of the 4 champions Victor Krum, Fleur Delacour, Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter. The Goblet of Fire with the blue flame was uncanny and showed a light side of it when the Weasley twins try to sneak up and put their name. First Task: Dragon Ball. They didn?t show the other three except Harry Potter trying to outrun (fly) a dragon. The book emphasize that Hungarian Horn Tail was the most dangerous one and Harry gets to go up against it. The CGI for the dragon was really exceptional and watching in the big screen where it flies and her nasty dragon-fire was breathtaking. Once Harry got the egg and solving why it give a shrieking sound once was ok and it was really funny with the scene with Moaning Myrtle in the bathtub. Second Task: Underwater Rescue. Great CGI work and from what I heard they shoot inside the tank. However the ones they are going to rescue seems like mannequins. The Mermaid was scary and I don?t remember the octopus on the book. Great action sequence. Third Task: The Maze. I was really disappointed not to see the Sphinx in it. (I guess it would be too expensive to include them) It was ok not to include the bogart, giant spiders and other nasty surprise inside the maze, but the Sphinx could stand out though. Overall the movie was done amazingly and showcased why Hogwarts is a school with competition like this. The Yule Ball reminds you that the kids are growing up and the big dance is in their minds more than anything else. Harry Potter seems to take the spotlight quite often leading to jealously from the likes of Ron that is in fact good characterization. Romance seems to be booming but I was fairly disappointed with Cho Chang. No offense on the actress, but she lacks the charisma in really attracting the audience even if she was beautiful in some degree. Mad Eye Moody was really mad, but entertaining to watch, the producers did a superb job of casting Brendan Gleeson. Finally Voldemort revealed with Ralph Fiennes was absolutely incredible and downright scary as the villain of the year in my book. If you like the book, I think you would like it even if there were certain elements not included but the did a good job on transcribing from one medium to another. If you want to be entertain and doesn?t know anything about Harry Potter, this is the best time to watched why people is so crazy with the Potter mania.
