Warner bros messed it up again!!! - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Reviews

It is quite hard to put into words how the direction of Newell and Warner Bros cut and pasted this movie. The first two were awesome!!! The third was horrible and this one follows suit. At least the acting between Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have definately gotten better from the third. It was hard during the third movie to take in drastic changes such as the Whomping Willow being moved from an in-grounds surrounded by nice soft grass position in the first two movies, to an out-of-grounds, on the side of a hill with no grass remotely close except for some wild un-cut vegetation under the tree in the third. It was also hard to take in the new style of Dumbledore by Michael Gambon in Azkaban. God rest his soul and the true way that Dumbledore should be shown through Richard Harris, Michael Gambon is nothing of the sorts nor does he compare to what Dumbledore should be and what I have in my mind. Michael Gambon in this movie shows no sign of intellectual superiorism and throws temper tantrums when Harry is selected as a fourth contestant. Why did Newell do this when the Dumbledore in the books and the one portrayed through Richard Harris was cool and collective? I am now afraid of the new Dumbledore and expect him to spit on his students rather than challenge and lead them through intellect. If you read the book, this movie is horrible. If you didn't read the book, good luck trying to figure out how the story develops from the third to the fourth and especially how the fifth will be tied in. It seems that Warner Bros is living on the Potter Fans devoutness to go to the movie regardless of how it is done due to their love for the story. They'd rather not attempt to do what they did in the first two movies and stick to the story to keep the movie-going book-reading fans happy. The visual effects are done quite well but take away from the story. There are missing characters that have big parts in book 5 as well as missing obstacles for the maze. The one good thing from this movie: Ralph Fiennes magnifies Voldemort to what he should be!!! Worth seeing maybe once, or just wait for it to come out on DVD.
