Was this really based on the book? - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Reviews

Well, you'd barely know it was. I think the fact that Harry is already at the Burrow is an unbelievably bad way to start the movie. The Quidditch World Cup was ridiculous and other than a show of some special effects, it was over and done with in such a hurry, one could care less that the Weasleys and Harry had ever even been there. They might as well have cut it out of the movie. Where were the woods they were to hide in when the death eaters attacked? Where was Winky? Why was Harry left out cold in the midst of burning tents? Why were the two schools Durmstrang and Beauxbatons intruduced so instantly without explanation or warning (not to mention in such a ridiculous fashion)? What was with this movie? I sat there for the longest time wondering why they had done such a hack job to this movie. Then I wondered what the heck J.K. Rowling was thinking about when she said it was good this way and go ahead and let it go to the theaters. Then I thought, it's all about money, isn't it? Who cares about quality anymore. Its gone by way of everything else, crank it out and get that hot little green stuff in your hands ASAP. What else could it be? They didn't pay attention to details, and they sure didn't care about what people were going to be seeing... or maybe, that's all they cared about. Let's show them a light show, some great special effects and zoom and badda bing and badda boom... they won't have time to think about a plot? about Harry, Ron, Hermione? Krum? Diggery? Dumbledore? Even Voldemort (though a bit frightening) was pale in this movie, if only because by that time, I was hoping it was going to end. Sorry folks about the bad review. I wish it were different. I'm a major Harry Potter fan but I cannot honestly say that the makers of this movie were.
